Local conditions matter to the design.
We factor sunshine, network export settings and battery use into the system recommendation.
Solar Panels & Battery Systems Across Whangārei & Northland
Generate. Store. Save. Power what’s next. Residential and commercial solar panels and battery systems for Whangārei and the wider Northland region, designed around your property, electricity use and future energy plans.
Start Your 5-Minute Solar AssessmentResidential & Commercial Solar, Batteries & Energy Solutions
Revolve Electrical designs and installs residential and commercial solar and battery systems throughout Northland, including Whangārei, Kamo and Maunu. Northland receives about 2,000 hours of bright sunshine in a typical year, and we assess how and when your property uses electricity before recommending an approach suited to your site, budget, storage needs and future plans.
Options include grid-connected solar, hybrid systems, battery storage, backup capability and EV-charger integration. Our electricians manage the electrical installation, grid-connection requirements and commissioning.
Your proposal can include consumption analysis, production modelling, panel and battery sizing, grid export assumptions and a clear comparison of suitable equipment.
A well-designed system should match your home rather than a standard panel package. We consider roof orientation and space, shading, current power use, daytime load, future EV charging and whether battery backup matters to you.
Designed around your energy use
Solar generation is most valuable when it aligns with when your household uses power. A tailored design can also include battery solutions that enable power generated during the day to be stored for use at night.
Residential SolarSolar BatteriesEstimated generation, self-consumption and bill savings vary by property and household. We model the proposed system using your available information so you can review realistic assumptions before deciding.
A battery can store surplus daytime generation for later use and may provide backup capability when designed for it. The best capacity depends on your usage profile, solar array and goals.
A properly sized system can reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the grid, but results differ for every home. Ready to explore solar for your Northland property? Contact us today to arrange a solar assessment with Revolve Electrical.
A proposal based on your property
We prepare a system proposal using current equipment options, site information and expected household consumption. It can show the proposed array size, equipment configuration and estimated annual generation.
Where appropriate, we can compare solar-only and solar-plus-battery options so the costs, expected performance and practical differences are clear.

Products selected for the project
Revolve designs both Sigenergy DC-coupled hybrid solar-and-battery systems and Enphase AC microinverter solar systems. Enphase uses a microinverter at each panel, while Sigenergy is a hybrid platform designed to bring solar, inverter functions, battery storage, monitoring and energy management together. Neither platform is automatically the right choice for every property. Our recommendation depends on roof layout, electricity use, budget, battery requirements, future expansion and resilience goals. Exact models, warranties and technical specifications are confirmed in the project proposal.
Solar, EV Charging & Hot Water
A solar assessment can also consider future EV charging or a hot-water heat pump where these loads affect how the property may use solar energy. The right approach depends on energy use, electrical capacity and the customer’s future plans.
Solar + EV ChargingSolar + Hot Water

A solar design based on your actual property.
Before recommending a system, we build a digital roof model, assess usable roof areas, review solar exposure and test panel layouts against your energy needs.
That digital model is then checked against the practical electrical work: switchboard capacity, cable routes, equipment location, metering and network requirements.

Northland solar facts, FAQs and site assessments
Why does solar make sense in Northland?
Northland combines strong solar resource with relatively high household electricity costs, so using solar energy directly in the home can reduce the amount of grid electricity you need to buy. The value depends on your roof, system size, daytime use, retailer plan and whether loads such as EV charging, hot water or batteries can make better use of daytime generation.
How does grid connection work, and what happens to excess energy produced?
A grid-connected system supplies the home first, with surplus generation able to export to the grid under your retailer and network terms. Northpower currently allows up to 10kW residential export per connection. Top Energy allows up to 10kW for eligible single-phase domestic connections, subject to its technical requirements and network assessment. We confirm the network, export settings and distributed-generation application as part of the design process.
What maintenance is required for solar panels, and how often?
Maintenance needs depend on the site and equipment. In coastal Northland, salt exposure is an important design consideration, so mounting hardware, fasteners, conduit and equipment location should be selected for the environment. We also recommend monitoring system performance and arranging an inspection if output changes, equipment reports a fault or panels become unusually soiled.
Do you install solar panels in Kamo, Maunu and across Whangārei?
Yes. We assess residential and commercial solar-panel and battery projects in Kamo, Maunu, the wider Whangārei area and throughout Northland. Share the property location, recent electricity use and what you want the system to achieve so we can discuss the site-assessment process and suitable options.
What do you need for a solar assessment?
Start with your property address, recent electricity bills or usage information, and whether the project is for a home or business. Tell us about any existing solar, battery requirements and plans for EV charging or hot-water heat pumps. Roof photographs taken from a safe position can also help. Equipment, installation scope and any performance estimates are confirmed through the proposal.
